Whether it's tech makers or tech users, it seems everyone’s January goals revolve around being slimmer.

In Lenovo’s case, the company has announced what it is calling 'the world’s thinnest convertible laptop,' in the form of the Yoga 900S.

This updated version of the Yoga 900 is just 12.8mm thin and boasts a new carbon fibre construction that keeps it under 1kg (albeit at 999g).

The Windows 10 device also offers a whopping 10.5 hours of video playback, making it perfect for a transatlantic flight.

The Lenovo Yoga 900S can be configured with an Intel Core m7 processor and offers a 12-inch QHD (2560x1440) touchscreen display. Dolby Premium Audio sound is also on board for media lovers.

Naturally, given its bendy constitution, it can be configured in four modes for laptop and tablet operation. There’s now also an ‘optional active pen’ for those wishing to sketch and annotate on their Yoga device.

The device will be available from March 2016 from $1,099 (around £746). UK pricing is yet to be confirmed by Lenovo.

Last month we reviewed the predecessor, the Lenovo Yoga 900. We awarded it a 7/10 score, rewarding it for the upgraded performance, good battery life and innovative design.

The foldable laptop was marked down for a build quality that didn’t match the high price, the loud fan and issues with a flickering screen.

We’ll be checking out this update in the hope Lenovo can do a little better this time around.
