Lenovo Yoga 2 Pro and Lenovo ThinkPad Yoga launched

During its IFA 2013 press conference, Lenovo has announced the Lenovo Yoga 2 Pro and Lenovo ThinkPad Yoga.

Lenovo has announced the second-generation of its hybrid Windows 8 laptop, the Lenovo Yoga 2 Pro and the business centric Lenovo ThinkPad 2.

Lenovo Yoga 2 Pro
Offering a better resolution and brightness than the original Lenovo Yoga, the Yoga 2 Pro is the direct successor to the Windows 8 laptop.

It has a 3,200 x 1800p Full HD 13-inch screen and has four times the resolution and brightness of the original Yoga.

It is even thinner and lighter than before weighing in at 1.39kg, the Yoga 2 Pro is just 15.5mm thick as well.

It comes with a 4th generation Intel Core processor and offers a 9-hour battery life.

Lenovo has included new features like Yoga picks, which suggests the apps to download for each mode, whether the user prefers table, tablet or tent mode.

There’s new voice control built into the Lenovo Yoga 2 Pro too, which is used with new apps like the Camera Man app.

Another new app is Lenovo Chef. It uses gesture controls to allow users to flick through recipes without touching the screen and making it dirty in the kitchen.

The Lenovo Yoga 2 Pro is available in October for €1299. UK pricing has yet to be announced.

Lenovo ThinkPad Yoga Features
Lenovo has launched the ThinkPad Yoga as a business-focused laptop, that’s a bit more “ruggidised” for business users.

It has a new Lift and Lock feature that locks the keys in place so they are flush when the laptop is being used in tablet mode. This is an attempt to make the laptop more durable, enabling it to last “between 3 – 5 years”.

Shipping with a digital stylus, the Lenovo ThinkPad Yoga recognises the user’s handwriting, and comes pre-installed with the latest Windows 8.1 OS.

Offering the same swivelling monitor as the Lenovo Yoga 2 Pro, the ThinkPad Yoga has a 12.5-inch Full 1080p display, but still “looks and feels like a ThinkPad”, says Lenovo.

Available in November, it’ll be priced at €799 (without VAT), with UK pricing yet to be announced.
