Lenovo Vibe S1 Lite

Despite owning mobile giant Motorola, Chinese PC titan Lenovo continues to pump out smartphones under its own branding.

The latest effort, announced on Monday night, is the Vibe S1 Lite, a more affordable version of its Vibe S1 handset. The budget-friendly device offers some specs that defy its $199 (around £130) price tag.

The Vibe S1 Lite has a 5-inch Full HD display display and 16GB of internal storage, plus the option to expand by another 32GB via Micro SD.

The Android 5.1 phone offers a 1.3GHz octa-core MediaTek processor, 2GB RAM and a 2,700mAh battery pack.

As with many budget conscious options flooding the market, there’s special emphasis on the front-facing camera.

There’s an 8-megapixel selfie-cam (which picks up peace sign gestures) with an LED flash. The rear-facing camera offers 13-megapixels and a dual-tone flash.

In terms of design, there’s a familiar metallic frame with the curved rear. Essentially, this is a slightly scaled back version of 2015’s Vibe S1, but it appears there may be plenty of potential value on offer here.

It doesn’t seem as if Lenovo will be offering the phone on western shores, given its focus on Motorola in traditional markets.
