New leaked renders suggest Samsung could be ready to update the Galaxy A8 for 2016 – and the images making the rounds show a phone that looks a whole lot like the Galaxy S7.
It's been a busy couple of weeks for Samsung, one marked more by exploding Galaxy Note 7 batteries than the usual products announcements.
That could be set to change in the near future, at least if a handful of renders recently posted to Twitter are any indication.
The images come to us from reliable mobile leaker @onleaks and show a phone that apparently measures 156.5mm x 77.5mm x 7.3mm – a good bit chunkier than last year's sub-6mm A8.
You can see our pick of the bunch above – while unconfirmed, they certainly look like press quality shots.
Those dimensions and the apparently glass and metal construction make it roughly comparable to the Galaxy S7 in build, though the profile is a shade thinner.
Elsewhere, the leak points a relocated speaker and a micro-USB port for charging.
Additional gossip has the refreshed A8 coming with slightly bumped specs compared to last year's model: according to Android Authority, these include a 5.7-inch Full HD screen, octa-core Exynos processor backed up by 3GB (vs 2GB of RAM on the 2015 model) and a 16-megapixel primary camera.
All of this is pure speculation, of course, as is the device's potential UK availability. Samsung's first A8 never made it to these shores, but if it does land this year, expect mid-range pricing.
