Leaked Huawei P8 Lite press render teases familiar design

A claimed Huawei P8 Lite press render has leaked online, suggesting the upcoming device will feature a design markedly similar to that of its predecessor.

With the handset set to be formally unveiled alongside the Huawei P8 next Wednesday, April 15, the images have popped up to point towards a Huawei Ascend P7 echoing finish.

Despite showing off a metal-framed form similar to that of the P7, the claimed P8 Lite image has suggested the handset will feature a slightly more rounded finish. This gives the device a slight air of the iPhone 6 about it.

Major design differences appear to be few and far between, with the power and volume controls undergoing only minor tweaks while retaining the same positioning.

One key difference, however, can be seen on the phone’s rear. According to the leaks, the glass-backed construction of the P7 has made way for a new, metallic finish.

Unlike its much mooted flagship sibling – which has been the subject of multiple recent leaks – the P8 Lite is not expected to feature a rear-mounted fingerprint scanner.

The images, which have surfaced courtesy of Ausdroid (via PhoneArena), echo recent leaks which have focussed on the handset’s small camera sensor and accompanying flash.

The Huawei P8 Lite is widely expected to debut at next week’s London-based launch event as a sub-specced sibling to the P8.

Although concrete specs are currently unclear, it is believed the Lite’s big brother will play host to a 5.2-inch, 1080p Full HD display, 13-megapixel primary camera and an octa-core Kirin 920 processor.
