Leak suggests The Order: 1886 can be completed in 5 hours at speed

A new leak suggests The Order: 1886 can be completed in just five hours if you’re quick.

Someone has leaked a full-length playthrough of The Order: 1886, showing that it can be completed in around five hours.

Of course, that is somewhat of a speed run, but it suggests that the single-player campaign is only around 2 and a half hours, while the unskippable cutscenes takes up the remaining playtime.

The playthrough comes via YouTube user PlayMeThrough, but we wouldn’t quite say the playthrough is that comprehensive.

They don’t examine much of the game’s story-centric items and very rarely actually dies.

Another gamer has achieved a platinum trophy for his in-game time, racking up nine hours of gameplay for the first playthrough alone.

While nine hours might be an average for an exceedingly skilled gamer, other reports suggest the game actually take between eight and 15 hours to complete for an average playthrough.

Earlier in development, the rumour emerged that the game would only be three hours long. However, that has been repeatedly disputed by developer Ready at Dawn and CTO Andrea Pessino.

Pessino even went on Twitter to confirm he would no longer comment on the “clickbait rumours” that had emerged about the game.

“I am done commenting on clickbait rumours about game’s length, ‘downgrade’ idiocy and such nonsense. Don’t bother asking,” he tweeted on February 13.

From what we’ve seen so far of the game, we can confirm there are a fair amount of lengthy and unskippable cutscenes, making the game seem at times like an interactive movie – a la Heavy Rain or Beyond: Two Souls.

The Order: 1886 will be released on Friday, February 20 as a PS4 exclusive.

We have requested a comment from Sony on the topic.
