The Last of Us has topped the UK All Format Gaming Chart for the fourth week running, overtaking previous 2013 record holders Bioshock Infinite and Dead Island: Riptide.
Naughty Dog’s post-apocalyptic title has retained its title as the UK’s most popular game, staying at the top of the UK All Format Chart for the fourth week in a row.
The month long reign means The Last of Us is the first game to stay at the top of the UK All Format Gaming Chart for four consecutive weeks in 2013. Both Bioshock Infinite and Dead Island: Riptide managed to hold on for three weeks.
A quiet week for new releases means that the Minecraft: Xbox 360 Edition is still at number 2, while FIFA 13 rose from fourth to take third place this week.
Nintendo 3DS title Animal Crossing: New Leaf fell a place to number four for the week ending July 6, but in fifth place is now Assassin’s Creed 3 after summer price promotions.
Previous chart leader, Tomb Raider, is now at number six followed by Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 in seventh.
Despite placing at number five last week, The Sims 3: Island Paradise expansion has dropped to eighth and the Marvel Comics inspired Deadpool game has fallen three places to sit in ninth.
Far Cry 3 is a re-entry into the UK All Format Gaming Chart top ten this week, taking last place from last week’s twelfth position, potentially following its price drop on Xbox Live.
The only new entry into the UK All Format Gaming Chart was Nintendo 3DS title Project X Zone, a fighting RPG published by Namco Bandai Games.
