Kobo Glo HD improves eReader resolutions

Kobo has expanded its eReader line-up, with the Kobo Glo HD landing as the company’s highest resolution offering to date.

Boasting a Carta E Ink HD touchscreen display, the new Glo features a near-Full HD, 1448 x 1072 pixel resolution. Stretched over the device’s 6-inch panel, this offers a suitably sharp 300 pixels-per-inch image density.

High-resolution party piece aside, the Kobo Glo HD is a strong commuter gadget in its own right.

Lining up at 9.2mm thick and just 180g in weight, the eReader’s 4GB storage capacity is enough to hold up to 3,000 books at any one time.

On top of this, a 1GHz processor keeps page turns prompt and a 30 day battery life is promised on a single charge if you limit your daily reading to just 30 minutes.

Kobo Glo HD us the perfect device for the book lover who hasn’t made the jump to digital,” Michael Tamblyn, Rakuten Kobo’s President and Chief Content Officer claimed.

He added: “Our surveys show there is a huge contingent of avid readers who simply haven’t tried digital because they love the print experience.

“Kobo Glo HD is sure to please any type of reader with a print-on-paper-like screen resolution, highly portable design to carry an entire library while commuting.”
