Mere weeks after updating its hugely popular mid-range in-ear headphones the Image X4i, Klipsch has further bolstered its headphone offering with a set of ceramic in-ears.
The Klipsch Image X7i have ceramic earpieces, which should prove more durable than the plastic of most earphones. Klipsch doesn’t make any grand claims about sound quality improvements due to the ceramic, though. Inside each earpiece is a single balanced-armature driver which is tuned to Klipsch’s signature tone – a decent amount of bass but not so much as to be overwhelming.
Available in glossy black or white, the X7i’s also feature a new flat cable that should help prevent tangling and be tough too. Incorporated into the cable is a three-button remote that also houses a microphone, giving you handsfree capabilities on iOS devices.
The Klipsch X7i also use Klipsch’s well-liked rubber tips, which come in four sizes, and a soft zip-up carry case is also included to keep the whole lot safe.
“With the Image X7i’s introduction, we aim to deliver a high-design product that stands out against its similarly priced competitors not possessing the same level of build quality,” said Chris Aiello, Klipsch product manager for headphones. “By taking conscious steps to both uphold and evolve our Image series throughout the product development process, we have engineered a product that delivers our sound signature through deep bass, clear mids and crisp highs, while delivering a never-before-seen design element from the brand.”
