Klipsch has announced updated versions of its superb mid-range earphones the Klipsch S4 and Klipsch S4i. The update brings a new flat cable that should reduce tangles and improve the overall durability of the ‘phones too.
Otherwise they’re the same in-ear headphones that impressed us way back in 2009 when they were first announced. This means a incredibly lightweight, angled driver housing that’s specifically designed for wearing with the cable running over your ear.
They also feature Klipsch’s patented oval ear tips, which we can vouch for being among the most comfortable, non-custom tips around. The drivers are the same too, of the full range moving coil type with a sound that to our ears is pleasingly warm but detailed.

Distinguishing the S4 from the S4i is the inclusion of a three-button remote on the latter, which also incorporates a mic and is compatible with Apple devices.
