Kickstarter has announced it has surpassed 100,000 successfully funded projects in its near-seven year existence.
In a blog post on Monday the crowdfunding platform, which takes a cut of the action for projects that reach goals, has laid out a ton of stats to mark the occasion.
The 100,000th project to be funded was a photography project called Falklands/Mavinas: One War, all Wars, with the goal achieved at 4:30am UK time on Monday morning.
Whereas the first 100 successfully funded projects took 121 days, the last 100 took 3 days.
Of the 86,0000 creators who achieved their goals, 8,539 of them have launched more than one successful project. One individual is responsible for a whopping 94 successful projects.

Interestingly, in terms of the categories, the most popular is music with more than one in five successfully funded projects emerging from that sector.
Of those 22,133 projects 4 creators have won Grammy awards for their Kickstarter projects, while one creator reached #7 on the Billboard charts.

Unfortunately, there are no stats related to the failures of funded projects, such as the catastrophic collapse of the Zano drone project.
