Kibbi is a security system for your connected home

The Internet of Things (IoT) is an exciting prospect, but so far the main use seems to be for refilling your fridge when it’s nearly empty. What about home security? Kibbi is here to help.

It’s a security device for your connected home. Using the smartphone app, you can watch an HD live stream of your home to make sure no one’s snooping around. It also features smart motion sensors, and night vision cameras, so you can see what’s going on in the dark.

Custom alerts let you know what’s happening the second your phone pings. You can even listen in to your home using the sound monitoring function.

1GB of free cloud storage comes as standard, and secure authentication means you’re safe no matter what.

But it’s not all security. You can also use it as a music streamer. Who said safety had to be boring?

The standard Kibbi device is about as tall as a modern smartphone, but you can also buy Kibbi Sensors. These are much smaller. Stick them to a door or window, and they’ll alert you if that door or window is opened, if the temperature changes drastically – hinting that another door or window was opened – and if there’s any other nearby movement.

They will also remind you if you left a window open when you left the house, so you can go back and close it before you’re too far away.

Interested? It’s on Indiegogo now, and should ship in March next year, if it can raise its $45,000 target.
