Ever find yourself without the right tool for a task? Maybe you need to remove a stone from a horse's hoof, or – more likely – just open a bottle. Keyport can help.
It's a multitool, but it's different from others because it's modular. That means you can pick and choose which tools you make part of your Keyport. So you can ignore the lesser-used tools (the one for removing stones from horses' hooves, for example) in favour of the more useful ones (bottle opener).
It comes in two versions. The Keyport Slide 3.0 and Keyport Pivot 1.0. Both are made of aircraft-grade aluminium, and both have a lanyard attachment. As the name suggests, modules for the Slide slide out of the end like some USB sticks. It comes in four- or six-port varieties. Modules for the Keyport Pivot, meanwhile, flip out like on a traditional multitool. The Pivot is the cheaper of the two.
Modules include a torch, key holder, Bluetooth locator so you never lose your keys, phone charger, garage door remote, knife, NFC chip for mobile payments, pen, and a remote control for your home alarm.
It's almost hit its $100,000 funding goal and still has 27 days to go. You can pick up the Pivot for $16 (£11) or the Slide for $23 (£16) on an early bird. If successful – and it looks like it will be – it will ship in July.
