Kama Sutra guides have just been launched into the digital age with the Kama Xcitra app, which allows customers to study the intricacies of the erotic positions in 3D and augmented reality.

Using 3D augmented reality technology, the Kama Xcitra app uses smartphones and tablets to offer readers 360-degree access to the Kama Sutra’s diagrams.

Based on ancient Hindu philosophies thought to be written about 2,000 years ago, the Kama Sutra has just been given an update with the Kama Xcitra app claiming to bring couples “closer to the action than ever before.”

“For more than two thousand years couples have turned to the Kama Sutra for advice and guidance on how to have a fulfilling love life,” said MD of publisher Xcite Books, Hazel Cushion. “But some of the more challenging positions like the Prone Tiger, the Catherine Wheel or the Peg have left readers a little baffled. That is until now.”

Available to download free with a purchase of the Kama Xcitra book by Xcite books, the app also offers the option to personalise their app experience. Couples can customise the appearance of the models in the images, changing hair and skin colour according to their own preferences, as well as adding a mood-enhancing soundtrack of their choice.

“Each image appears to pop out of the page as a 3D hologram right in front of the reader’s phone. The viewer then moves their mobile device around to appreciate the position from all angles. As a result, each position becomes clearer, finally solving the problem of where to put that awkward elbow.”

The app works in conjunction with the 69 erotic Kama Sutra positions featured in the book, with the app claiming to allow more clarity to the often ambiguously named positions.

The Kama Xcitra book is available from today with the accompanying app from all good book retailers including Amazon and Waterstones.
