The founder of Wikileaks, who is currently awaiting a hearing at the supreme court for his appeal against extradition to Sweden, has announced he will host a ten part TV chat show reaching at least 600 million viewers.

The announcement was made on the Wikileaks website this morning with Julian Assange claiming: “Through this series I will explore the possibilities for our future in conversations with those who are shaping it. Are we heading towards utopia, or dystopia and how we can set our paths?”

Continuing, he said: “This is an exciting opportunity to discuss the vision of my guests in a new style of show that examines their philosophies and struggles in a deeper and clearer way than has been done before.”

While no guests have been confirmed for the show, Assange said it will feature “controversial voices” drawn together from across the political spectrum including “iconoclasts, visionaries and power insiders.”

Assange is facing allegations by two women of sexual assault in Sweden during a trip to the country in August 2010.

The series will air in mid-March and the statement says the show has initial licensing commitments covering over 600m viewers across cable, satellite and terrestrial broadcast networks.
