We weren't expecting this this Friday afternoon. It's a new trailer for Star Wars: The Force Awakens!
It was uploaded to Disney's Japanese YouTube account today, and at time of writing it's only been viewed just over 6,000 times. Expect that to shoot up once people realise it's chock full of brand new footage.
For starters, we see the first meeting between Rey and Finn (played by Daisy Ridley and John Boyega respectively). The BB-8 droid also has more screen time, and we even hear it speak for the first time. Well, bleep like R2-D2.
Han Solo also leads the heroes into a new location, and there's a crucial new line of dialogue, spoken by Rey: "Hope is not lost today. It is found."
You can see the trailer in full at the foot of this story.
This is sure to send people poring over every frame trying to work out any clues as to the plot. We're quite happy to wait for the film and not ruin the surprise. (Because why would you watch the fully realised cinematic masterpiece when you can read an obsessive fan's version of events?)
Star Wars: The Force Awakens opens in the UK on 17 December. We've already seen a glut of tie-in merchandise, including a Darth Vader-themed PS4, a Sphero BB-8 and a Han Solo mini fridge. According to the Toy Retailers Association, three of the 12 top-selling toys for Christmas are expected to be Star Wars-themed: the Lego Kylo Ren's Command Shuttle, the Hasbro Bladebuilders Jedi Master Lightsaber and the Hasbro Millennium Falcon. Expect adults up and down the country to buy them, claiming they're for the kids.
