Apple has delayed the release of iTunes 11 until some time November.

The company announced that the new version of its media player software would be arriving in a month later than originally planned due to its development taking longer than expected.

An Apple spokesman told CNET, “We wanted to take a little more time to get it right. We look forward to releasing this new version of iTunes with its dramatically simpler and cleaner interface, and seamless integration with iCloud before the end of November.” It was originally scheduled for an October release, and many predicted it would be launched alongside the iPad mini last week.

More than previous editions, iTunes 11 takes visual cues from iOS, and all purchases made through it will automatically be stored remotely through iCloud, allowing users to instantly access them via their iPhone, iPad or iPod touch. The new interface shows the same clean new “shelving” system across all devices, so browsing the store looks much the same whether you’re doing it on Mac, PC, iPad or iPhone.

There’s also a revamped iTunes MiniPlayer, which will allow users to skip tracks and search for content without having to access the full window version.
