Following the Galaxy Note 7 debacle Samsung has been making a few changes in an effort to make up for the resulting financial hit.
One such change was reported this week as a possible new colour option for the flagship Galaxy S7 handset, with a Glossy Black hue mooted by The Investor – a business blog published by the Korea Herald.
The report claimed Samsung would launch the new handset early next month, just in time for the festive season, and now it seems we've got our first look at the as yet unconfirmed handset.

Images that come via Chinese social media site Weibo seem to reveal the newly glossed up Galaxy S7 Edge, and look to have been posted to a Samsung official's account.
This new glossy black colour option is similar to the Black Onyx hue that was introduced on the S7 and S7 Edge earlier this year, but with a shiny finish added.
The new finish will bring the Galaxy S7 in line with the iPhone 7 in terms of colour options, as Apple's handset also comes in a matte black or glossy black (known as Jet Black) finish.
Whether the glossy black S7 will prompt a significant boost in S7 sales remains to be seen, but the Jet Black iPhone certainly proved popular among fans.

As always, there's no official word from Samsung on the pictures or the new colour option, so take today's 'leak' with due caution.
But the glossy black finish certainly makes sense in terms of Samsung trying to incentivise consumers following the Note 7 recall, which saw the company discontinue production of its phablet following overheating issues.
We'll have more in the near future, so stay tuned.
