Rumours of a new Moto Z Play smartphone have been doing the rounds for several weeks, and now it seems the phone could be launched soon.

An image appearing to show a promotional poster for what looks like the device was uploaded to Chinese social media site Weibo.

The poster (via AndroidHits) is shown outside a shop and seems to be advertising pre-orders for the Moto Z Play, suggesting the phone could launch soon.

What’s more, the image seemingly reveals the phone will be modular, much like the recent Moto Z and Moto Z Force handsets.

These phones allow you to attach MotoMods – case add-ons that enhance the phone’s functionality.

The Moto Z Play is also shown as coming with a huge battery that can run up to 36 hours in standby mode, and only requires 15 minutes of charging to run for 10 hours.

On top of that, the poster lists a 16-megapixel rear camera for the as yet unconfirmed smartphone.

Recently, leaked images, purporting to show the Moto Z Play, appeared on Instagram and Reddit, revealing the phone's similarity to the existing Moto Z design.

Elsewhere, the mid-range handset has passed through China’s TENAA regulatory agency, which revealed the phone’s specs.

Alongside a 5.5-inch Full HD AMOLED screen, the Moto Z Play is expected to come packing a Snapdragon 625 chip, 3GB RAM, and 64GB storage.

Reports suggest the phone could be made official on September 6, but we’re hoping to hear more about the Moto Z Play at IFA, which kicks off next week.
