Is Sony teasing a new PS4 IP?

Sony has released a new picture on its official Facebook and Twitter feeds that could suggest a new IP for the upcoming PS4 console.

The picture, which bears the tagline “When Worlds Collide”, could be the first hint towards a new PS4 IP after the image was posted on the official PlayStation Facebook and Twitter accounts.

Showcasing what looks to be one planet eclipsing another surrounded by some kind of purple hue, Sony has yet to offer any other information on the potential PS4 title.

Some are suggesting that it could be an effort to promote Dust 514 as the same slogan was used on an issue of Edge to promote the game back in 2009 when it was originally announced.

This was to advertise that Dust 514, a huge online multiplayer shooter for the PS3, was connected to the Eve Online universe.

However, seeing as the game was released in May last year, it seems a little strange that Sony wouldn’t include a reference to the game along with the posted image.

Playing host to platform exclusive games such as DriveClub, Knack and Killzone 4: Shadow Fall, it would be nice to see more PS4 exclusives to rival the Xbox One’s 15 exclusive titles.

PS4 Features
The PS4 was originally announced back in February at a dedicated Sony event, but the Japanese electronics manufacturer decided to keep the console’s design a secret until E3 2013.

The annual games conference set the stage for both the PS4 design and UK price reveal, which let slip that the Sony next-gen console would be a full £80 cheaper than the Xbox One at £349 to its £429 price tag.

Sold without its PlayStation Eye peripheral, Sony has managed to keep the PS4 price low to attract consumers. The reduced cost, coupled with a real focus on being a next-generation games console rather than an entertainment hub could see the PS4 take the top-seller crown come launch.
