iPhone 6S price leaks, 16GB version still expected

The next iPhone is set for an official unveiling on September 9, but pricing is still unconfirmed.

Fortunately, tech site Techtastic claims to have received information regarding the iPhone 6S price.

According to the article, the iPhone 6S and iPhone 6S Plus will cost as follows, in Europe:

iPhone 6S – 16GB/64GB/128GB – 699/799/899 euros

iPhone 6S Plus – 16GB/64GB/128GB – 799/899/999 euros

None of those prices are a huge surprise, mainly because they’re exactly the same as the current equivalent iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus R.R.P.

As such, that makes it easy for us to translate them into both pounds and dollars, which you’ll find below:

iPhone 6S – 16GB/64GB/128GB – £539/£619/£699

iPhone 6S Plus – 16GB/64GB/128GB – £619/£699/£789

iPhone 6S – 16GB/64GB/128GB –

iPhone 6S Plus – 16GB/64GB/128GB –

Of course, the above prices aren’t confirmed. It’s merely guess work on our part. After all, if the prices aren’t changing in Europe, they probably won’t change in the UK or US either.

The big revelation here however, is that it looks like Apple isn’t going to abandon its 16GB entry-level model.

The low-storage base model has been an issue of contention for quite some time, with many believing that Apple should offer a 32GB handset as standard.

That’s mainly because in a world of bigger apps and higher-resolution photos, 16GB barely cuts it anymore.

Apple would probably counter such arguments by suggesting its users rely more on the iCloud storage platform.

We should also note that Apple has trimmed down iOS 9 to make it much smaller than iOS 8, so you won’t lose as much storage space to the OS as with previous iPhone handsets.
