iPhone 6 component images leak

Alleged images of the iPhone 6 in a factory setting have appeared on the internet.

The three images featured above appear to have been sourced from Foxconn, Apple’s main China-based supplier. They show a mysterious new iPhone being tested in a production facility.

If accurate, these images paint the picture of a significantly slimmer iPhone 6 design with rounded edges in place of the squared-off devices we’ve become accustomed to since the iPhone 4.

On the rear surface, the camera lens appears to protrude from the back of the device, rather like the most recent iPod touch model.

These so-called iPhone 6 snaps were posted on China’s Weibo network, and there’s certainly no guarantee that they’re genuine. However, they do appear to tally with recent reports and rumours concerning Apple’s next smartphone.

We’re expecting to see an iPhone that borrows a few design cues from the current iPad range (the iPad Air and iPad mini 2), while the biggest change will be to screen size. Virtually every source on the subject claims that Apple will launch a larger iPhone in one of two screen sizes – and quite possibly both.

Expect to see Apple taking on the current Android front-runners with a 4.7-inch and possibly a 5.5-inch display – both a significant boost from the current 4-inch iPhone 5S display.

We’re anticipating an official iPhone 6 launch some time in or around September.
