A company that makes luxury versions of Apple’s devices has leaked a video of the upcoming iPhone 6’s casing.
Feld & Volk, a company that makes gaudy gold iPhones has released a video of what purports to be the casing of the iPhone 6, due to be announced this September. Watch it below.
While a work-in-progress component that doesn't have all of its cutouts made yet, the iPhone 6 casing appears consistent with the dozens of rumours we’ve seen recently.
It suggests the next iPhone will keep the all-metal design, but its body will be a little curvier, trading in the iPhone 5S’s hard lines for something a little closer to the contours of the all-but-forgotten iPod touch.
There are some other slight differences too, such as a white inlay that looks a little similar to the finishing touches on the HTC One Mini 2. Also note that the Apple logo area is cut out, suggesting it will be a separate insert, as it is in the iPad.
Other than these somewhat trivial changes, it’s largely business as usual for this iPhone 6 leak. The Lightning port sits on the bottom next to a 3.5mm headphone jack, and while there’s no camera lens cut-out here, that’s likely to be because this until was snatched off a conveyor belt in Shanzhen somewhere mid-production.
Additional photos published by MacRumors suggest Apple is going to keep at least two of its current range of silver, dark grey and gold colours. It has an image of the dark grey version, whose casing inlays are a little less pronounced if you’re after a purer look.
Of course, there’s no guarantee these images are even legitimate - although we are in the right season for on-the-money leaks.
Most reports suggest the next iPhone will have a 4.7-inch screen, although others claim that we’ll see multiple versions of Apple’s phone this year.
We’ll likely see plenty more of these leaks before the phone’s announcement, expected in September, so stay tuned if you like your phones small, metallic and expensive.
