iPhone 6 5.5-inch potentially outed by leaked cases

A case for the potential iPhone 6 5.5-inch model has leaked online along with some comparison measurements.

The images of the cases have appeared online thanks to French website Nowhereelse.fr and reveal the two possible iPhone 6 sizes, albeit in case form.

Rumour has it that the iPhone 6 will arrive in two forms, one with a 4.7-inch display and the second with a larger 5.5-inch screen.

The site has helpfully added the dimensions of these possible iPhone 6 models, with the 4.7-inch iPhone 6 measuring up at 138 x 67mm. this matches up with previous renders supposedly released to case manufacturers earlier this year.

The image above lists the 5.5-inch iPhone 6 with dimensions of 157 x 81mm, but calls the phone the iPhone 6S for some reason.

These measurements would put the larger iPhone 6 at a similar size to the 6-inch Nokia Lumia 1520.

However, what is interesting is that the French site claims both devices will be under 7mm thick, which is a stark difference from the already slim 7.6mm body of the iPhone 5S.

Apple is reportedly having issues sourcing batteries slim enough but still powerful enough to run the 5.5-inch iPhone 6.

Of course, these cases may just have been mocked up from the iPhone 6 dummy models that have been doing the round of late and look far from official to us.

However, it is interesting to get a sense of scale between the two purported iPhone models that should launch later this year running iOS 8.
