iPhone 5S with dual LED flash leaks again

Days after claimed pictures of an iPhone 5S handset sporting a dual LED flash started to do the rounds, Apple’s next-generation handset has been caught in the wild once again.

A much clearer image than the last leak, the latest premature shots of the much mooted iPhone 5S show a handset with the familiar form factor of the iPhone 5, adding a just a small physical alterations to the current-generation handset.

Aside from the arrival of a dual LED flash, the leaked iPhone 5S looks markedly similar to the iPhone 5, with the same two-tone brushed aluminium rear and streamlined form factor.

Despite Apple having lost footing in the smartphone scene to the likes of the Android powered Samsung Galaxy S4 and HTC One, it is expected that the iPhone 5S will feature only incremental upgrades over its existing sibling.

iPhone 5S Rumours
While the addition of a second flash bulb might not be enough to tempt many into splashing out on Apple’s next smartphone offering, further iPhone 5S rumours have pegged a number of less visible improvements to make an appearance.

With the arrival of a dual LED flash expected to make an appearance alongside improved camera optics, the iPhone 5S is also expected to benefit from a faster, quad-core processor and, potentially, larger storage options.

Expected to be the first device to come pre-installed with the WWDC 2013 unveiled iOS 7 operating system, it has been claimed that the iPhone 5S will land in “6-8” colours, with the traditional black and white hues to be joined by more vibrant tones akin to the latest iPod touch.

Although an iPhone 5S release date is still very much unofficial, it is believed the Sony Xperia Z and Google Nexus 4 rival will be formally unveiled in early September. It is then expected it will hit retailers just weeks later.

Unlikely to hold the limelight all to itself, it has been claimed that a September iPhone 5S release date will see the handset line up alongside a revised, Retina display hosting iPad mini 2.
