According to multiple sources, a selection of US networks have barred their staff from taking holiday around September 18 and September 22 as they prepare for the inevitable onslaught of customers which surround any high-profile Apple launch.
While networks T-Mobile and AT&T are both said to have put a freeze on holiday allowance around the expected late September arrival of the iPhone 5S and iPhone 5C, Apple’s own retail outlets are set to be stingy on days off.
Based on a leaked internal company calendar, which surfaced via Apple Insider, Apple will stop its staff taking holiday between September 15 and September 28 as the company prepares for and then deals with the high demand expected for the next-gen phone. Apple has yet to comment on when it might launch its iPhone 5 replacement.
Tasked with regaining ground on the likes of the Samsung Galaxy S4 and HTC One, the iPhone 5S is expected to be an improved spec version of its predecessor, retaining the same form factor as the iPhone 5 while adding “6-8 colour” options.
Tipped to run a speedier quad-core CPU, improved camera optics and the WWDC unveiled iOS 7 operating system, the iPhone 5S will reportedly share the stage with the all new iPhone 5C.
Repeatedly leaked in a variety of vibrantly hued plastic bodies, the iPhone 5C will bring Apple’s mobile ecosystem to a more affordable price point, reportedly repackaging the iPhone 5’s spec into a cheaper, plastic shell.
