Apple iPhone 5 features leak in video

Ahead of the expected Apple iPhone 5 launch event, a newly revealed hands-on video has claimed to out a selection of iPhone 5 features and components including the handset’s heavily rumoured 4-inch display.

With a selection of claimed iPhone 5 components having already done the rounds online, SmartPhone Medic has collected what it suggests are a variety of new iPhone parts, giving a video run-through of the eagerly awaited handset’s upcoming design changes and features.

Showcasing a new 4-inch display that is considerably larger than those found on the existing iPhone 4S, despite retaining a number of the same design characteristics, the latest Apple iPhone 5 leaks have suggested the device will see its front-facing camera move above the speaker as the light sensor is moved to the side.

Stating that the leaked parts have been provided by “a very reliable source that we have worked with for years,” a SmartPhone Medic spokesperson has suggested the unnamed tipster has “been very accurate when releasing early parts to us in the past, but obviously we cannot say 100 per cent that they are indeed the parts for the new iPhone.”

They added: “Apple is very good at protecting parts/devices until their launch, despite what people may think. It is very difficult to acquire them. The quality, build and markings suggest that they are accurate."

With Apple iPhone 5 rumours kicking into overdrive ahead of the expected September 12th Apple iPhone 5 launch event the latest video-based leak has added further fuel to the newly revised dock connector fire, showing off what appears to be the unit’s heavily rumoured and repeatedly leaked 9-pin port, a feature that seems all but set to replace Apple’s longstanding 3-pin dock connector standard.

Further iPhone 5 features highlighted in the YouTube video release include the company’s decision to move the handset’s inbuilt 3.5mm audio jack from the top of the device down to its base panel alongside the new power providing and transfer enabling port.

Whilst Apple has yet to officially acknowledge the existance of the heavily rumoured Apple iPhone 5 handset, the frequency and similarity of recent leaks add backing to reports that the eagerly awaited Samsung Galaxy S3 rival will touch down later this year with a larger 4-inch display and new 9-pin dock connector in tow.

With the iPhone 5 processor mooted as being the same A5X dual-core offering found within the iPad 3, further iPhone 5 rumours have claimed that the device will feature a marginally improved battery, revamped camera optics and the WWDC unveiled iOS 6 mobile operating system.

Edging ever nearer to the realms of reality, the most anticipated smartphone release in history is expected to hit retailers in the weeks following its tipped September 12th unveiling with US network provider Verizon this week suggesting a September 21st Apple iPhone 5 release date has been pencilled in.
