A Foxconn spokesperson has said that the iPhone 5 will launch in June during a TV interview. Is it time to prep the iPhone 4S for eBay, or was it just someone just getting too keen under the pressure of the camera lens?
The Foxconn recruiter was explaining that 18,000 new bods are being hired for the "fifth-generation phone", and went on to say that the handset should be out by June. Rumours on the next iPhone release date have been flitting between June and September for months, but a June date would be in-line with the timings of both the iPhone 3GS and the iPhone 4. Not the current iPhone 4S, though - it was released in October 2011.
An iPhone, from the good old days
Talking to the world about the iPhone 5 release date is probably enough to make Apple CEO Tim Cook give you a firm wrist slap, but the Foxconn employee didn't say much more about the upcoming phone.
Foxconn is a Taiwanese manufacturing company based in New Taipei, Taiwan. Its factories are responsible for the assembly of both iPhone and iPad devices.

The next generation of iPhone could see Apple "pull a new iPad" and wipe away the numbering system of the phone range. Would you prefer to see an "iPhone 5" on the high street, or are you happy for iPhones to be simply "iPhones" forevermore?
