The iPhone 4S will be released on 14th October, according to Apple's own Japanese store.
A posting on the website, accidentally posted just minutes before the official announcement was due to begin shows the title iPhone 4S alongside a date of 10/14. This not only confirms the date of release but also seems to finally put to bed the idea that we'll see a proper iPhone 5, though we aren't totally dismissing the idea yet - there's always 'one more thing'.
The posting also suggests a new iPod nano, with a price of 10,800 yen - down from 13,800 for the current version. Text next to the new model suggests it will have a redesigned interface and new fitness features.
We'll be back with more very shortly as the official announcements start coming through.
