iPad Pro delayed to September and may feature additional ports

A couple of new high profile reports concerning the so-called iPad Pro have hit the internet, suggesting delays and new connection options.

Apple is widely believed to be working on a 12.9-inch high-end tablet known as the iPad Pro, but it release has apparently been delayed a number of times.

Now the iPad Pro launch has been delayed to the latter part of 2015, according to a new Bloomberg report. It claims that Apple’s super-sized tablet will commence production in September, thanks to delays in the supply of its display.

That’s quite a slip from Apple’s initial plan of an iPad Pro launch this quarter.

That claim is corroborated by The Wall Street Journal, which states that production will commence in the second half of 2015. The report also sheds some light on an interesting new business-focused feature supposedly arriving with the iPad Pro.

Apparently, Apple is now considering fitting the iPad Pro with a USB 3.0 port. It seems as if Apple is attracted by the standard’s high data transfer rate, which could be useful for swift backups and other data transfer tasks.

Apple isn’t finished there with the additional ports, either. The report also claims that Apple is considering additional ports for keyboard and mouse usage, essentially turning it into the closest thing to an Apple hybrid device yet.

All of which strengthens the notion that the iPad Pro will live up to its name, and be a handy tool for business users.
