Concept creator Benjamin Geskin has responded to rumours claiming that Apple will launch an iPad with Face ID and no Home button in 2018 the only way he knows how: by releasing renders of what the slate could look like.
Before we take a look at the renders, we should note that they’re purely speculative; they aren’t based on schematics, CAD files or anything of the sort. That doesn’t necessarily mean they won’t be similar to what Apple’s working on, though.
Geskin’s visions are usually pretty close to the mark – and this latest batch look like they could have lifted straight from Apple’s Chief Design Officer Jony Ive’s Mac Pro, featuring the same slim-bezelled design as the recently-released iPhone X.
What’s interesting about fan-made renders is that they provide you with an insight into the products consumers want to see, and it’s evident that Geskin doesn’t want the iPad to feature an iPhone X-esque notch, because he’s left it out of his set.

To be honest, we can’t envisage Apple slapping a notch on the slate, which is believed to be the iPad Pro 3, because it’s far too big to be an all-screen device. You’ll need some bezels, no matter how small, to grip – or you’ll drop it.
