The iPad mini UK release date has been confirmed by Apple with the 7-inch iOS 6 tablet to be made available for purchase next week.

With iPad mini pre-orders set to kick off this Friday, October 26th, Apple has revealed that the iPad mini UK release date will be held on November 2nd; just ten days after iPad mini rumours were brought to a close and the new 7.9-inch tablet entered the realms of reality.

One of Apple’s biggest day one product launches, the iPad mini will launch in 34 countries on November 2nd with usual launch territories UK and the US joined by more low-key launch nations such as Slovenia, Puerto Rico and Iceland.

“iPad mini is every inch an iPad. With its gorgeous 7.9-inch display, iPad mini features the same number of pixels as the original iPad and iPad 2, so you can run more than 275,000 apps designed specifically for iPad,” said Philip Schiller, Apple’s senior vice president of Worldwide Marketing. “iPad mini is as thin as a pencil and as light as a pad of paper, yet packs a fast A5 chip, FaceTime HD and 5 megapixel iSight cameras and ultrafast wireless―all while delivering up to 10 hours of battery life.”

Playing host to a 7.9-inch display with the same 1024 x 768p picture resolution as the iPad 2, the iPad mini lines up at just 7.2mm thick and 308g in weight. With a 5-megapixel iSight camera bringing 1080p Full HD video recording capabilities to the iPad mini, Apple’s first sub sized tablet also features a second FaceTime HD camera on the front.

In a bid to eat into the Google Nexus 7’s dominance of the 7-inch tablet market and in an effort to capitalise on the lucrative Christmas shopping period, Apple has revealed that the iPad mini UK price will see the Lightning port powered tablet line up considerably cheaper than its 9.7-inch iPad 3 sibling.

Set to launch as a Wi-Fi only device the iPad mini, which will be available in both black and white forms, will offer wannabe owners the option of 16GB, 32GB and 64GB storage capacities. With the 16GB iPad mini priced at £269, the 32GB and 64GB models will cost £349 and £429 respectively.
