iPad mini UK price revealed

Apple has revealed the full UK pricing for the new iPad mini, which starts at £269 for the 16GB Wi-Fi edition.

In the US, the iPad mini starts at $329, which makes the £269 UK entry price for the small tablet perfectly reasonable. If you’re feeling flush, the 32GB Wi-Fi edition costs £349, and the 64GB Wi-Fi version costs £429. All come in black and white finishes.

Like the iPad 4, there are also versions of the iPad mini that offer mobile internet connectivity. These are a little more expensive.

The 16GB Wi-Fi Cellular version costs £369, the 32GB £449 and the 64GB version £529. Although the "Cellular" term is rather US-centric in tone, it is what Apple is using at present in the UK, and relays that the iPad mini offers 4G connectivity as well as 3G. Previous connected iPads in the UK were known as "Wi-Fi 3G". Ah, those halcyon days.

The iPad mini Wi-Fi models will be available to pre-order in the UK from Friday 26 October. Tablets will start shipping on 2 November, a week later.

Although arguably good value for the specs offered, the iPad mini is unavoidably much more expensive than the Google Nexus 7, which costs £159 for the 8GB edition and £199 for the 32GB version.

Already have £200 or £300 odd quid earmarked for an iPad mini? Let us know in the comments.
