Apple has confirmed the pre-order details for the iPad mini, which starts on 26 October.
Apple has launched a whole new iPad family, complete with the iPad mini and a new 4th Generation iPad. The iPad mini will be available to pre-order from 26 October in the majority of Apple's key territories, including the UK.
The Wi-Fi edition of the 7.85in tablet will be available to pre-order from this Friday, with the things starting to fly out of warehouses and onto people's doorsteps on 2 November.
The iPad mini is available in the same basic configurations as the iPad 4. It'll come in 16GB, 32GB and 64GB storage capacities, and be available as Wi-Fi only and 3G/4G iterations.
The "cellular" editions, as Apple calls them, will be available slightly further down the line. We'll confirm UK dates for these models as more details are released - currently Apple says they'll be available a "couple of weeks" down the line.
In the US, the iPad mini starts at $329, topping out at $659 for the 64GB Wi-Fi plus 3G edition. In the UK, prices start at £269.
The iPad 3 has dropped into a tech black hole, leaving the new iPad family comprising the iPad 2, the iPad mini and the iPad 4.
