Tonight at 6PM GMT, Apple is expected to launch the iPad mini, and the press conference will be streamed on the new Apple Events channel. The event takes place in San Francisco at the California Theatre, instead of Apple's usual haunt the Buena Yerba Center for the Arts.
The Apple Events channel also lets Apple TV owners watch the coverage from previous Apple launches, presumably including the iPhone 5 launch of September 2012.
Apple isn't just expected to unveil the iPad mini tonight. Solid rumours also indicate that a 13-inch MacBook Pro with Retina display, a tweaked full-size iPad and a new Mac mini may also be unveiled.
However, the iPad mini will grab all the glory. Not heard enough about it yet? The iPad mini is a smaller, lower-cost alternative to the iPad 3, set to challenge the Google Nexus 7 for the title of most popular 7-in tablet
It's expected to feature a 7.85-inch screen, an aluminium body like the iPad 3 and a dual-core processor. If, as the rumours suggest, it uses a 1,024 x 768 pixel display, it should be able to use just about any iPad game or app right out of the box.
The iPad mini price is likely to hit around the £230-280 mark, making it significantly more expensive than the Google Nexus 7, which is available for as little as £159.
