The invites for the iPad mini launch event have been sent out, confirming that the smaller iPad will be unveiled on 23 October.
Bearing the tagline "we've got a little more to show you", there is little doubt that invite is for the iPad mini launch. The event will take place on 23 October at 10am, in the California Theatre in San Jose. Apple's big events are usually held at the Yerba Buena Center for the Arts in San Francisco, marking a change this time around. The invite was first published by The Loop.
Factoring-in the time difference, we'll get to see the first official glimpse of the iPad mini just after 6pm on 23 October.
The iPad mini is expected to feature a 7.85in screen bearing the same resolution as the first two iPads. This rules-out a Retina display screen like the iPad 3, but should ensure that iPad mini owners get to use just about any iPad app that's currently available.
The iPad mini was pegged to launch on 17 October, but that date was revised when invites to the event failed to materialise. This invite sets the 23 October date in stone, though. The change in launch dates may have been down to a last minute change in iPad mini design, which was reported by an accessory manufacturer that had to halt production of cases following the change.
