iPad 5 leaks as Apple’s next tablet appears in over 100 pictures

It’s not all about the iPhone 5S and iPhone 5C you know, as Apple’s new smartphones were being unveiled last night, new iPad Air leaks were doing the rounds online.

Offering yet another glimpse at the widely expected tablet, a raft of newly leaked iPad 5 pictures have once again shown a slimmer tablet with a heavily reduced bezel and a refined form factor. According to recent iPad 5 leaks, the tablet will take a number of design hints from the iPad mini 2.

Appearing courtesy of repeated Apple tipster Sonny Dickson, more than 100 iPad 5 pictures have hit the web, with the shell of Apple’s upcoming tablet refresh being captured from all conceivable angles and views.

“We’ve gotten our hands on a number of sharp high-res images of the 5th-gen iPad casing and front panel,” Sonny Dickson stated. “Notably, it shows off the highly anticipated slimmer iPad-mini like design it is expected to launch with.”

With a number of iPad 5 leaks having already done the rounds, the new iPad 5 pictures once again show a less angled, brushed metal backed device with a streamlined profile and refined bezel.

While it is believed that the iPad 5 will run the same 9.7-inch Retina display as its predecessor, recent rumours have suggested that the tablet’s overall footprint will be 1.5cm narrower, dropping from 18.5cm to 17cm wide.

As well as adopting the iPad mini’s design, the leaked iPad 5 pictures have pointed to the tablet sporting the same bottom mounted speaker grills and individual volume controls as its 7.9-inch sibling.

Discussing the upcoming tablet, recent iPad 5 leaks have claimed the device “is more narrow and it looks a lot more like the iPad mini but you are getting the exact same screen size.”

Although the iPad 5 failed to materialise during last night’s iPhone 5S and iPhone 5C unveiling, it is believed that the tablet will receive its own formal unveiling alongside a new iPad mini 2 later this year.
