Instagram crashing on Android? Quick fix is now available
Instagram has rolled out a fix for its Android app following widespread reports of crashes this week.
The company says it has discovered the issue on June 4, but it has now been resolved.
In a tweet, Instagram says users still experiencing problems should attempt to reinstall or update the application.
The issue had affected my use of Instagram on a Google Nexus 6P smartphone. I received a notification of an Instagram crash on Monday night and any subsequent attempts to relaunch the app failed.
I can confirm that a reinstall resolved the issue shortly after the Facebook-owned company tweeted out the solution on June 5.

Instagram hasn’t owned up to what was causing the issue, which did not affect iOS users. Naturally, that caused those replying to Instagram’s tweet to advise Android users to “just get an iPhone.”
