Hyundai drivers can now start engines by talking to an Apple Watch

Today is a good day for Apple Watch owners who also happen to drive Hyundai motors.

The Korean car maker has rolled out a version of its Blue Link app for Apple’s wearable device, making it the first auto manufacturer to get its app out into the wild.

Just like the Android Wear app, which arrived on the scene earlier this year, drivers will be able to remote start and turn off their engine with a single tap of the wrist.

If that’s not cool enough for you, the feature can be also achieved with voice commands.

Also voice and touch enabled are the remote door lock/unlock feature, remote light flashing and car finder features. The latter comes with an on-screen map that’ll guide you right to your vehicle.

The app is available to download now and is compatible with all Hyundai vehicles boasting the bespoke Blue Link bluetooth technology.

Starting with the 2012 Sonata and featuring most of the firm’s new vehicles since, drivers will also require an active Blue Link subscription to make use of the free app.
