Huawei YouView+ DN371T box launched

Huawei has launched the Huawei YouView+ DN371T set top box that offers on demand TV without a subscription.

The DN371T offers access to on demand services like BBC iPlayer, ITV Player, 4oD and 5 on Demand on your TV, plus pay per view services.

However, as the box is a standalone product you can access YouView+ without having to subscribe to the TalkTalk or BT TV subscription package.

The Huawei YouView+ DN371T has a 500GB in-built hard drive that can store up to 300 hours of standard definition TV or 125 hours of HD programming.

Access to 70 digital TV channels via a 15-day TV guide comes as standard and you can pause, record and rewind live TV.

“Huawei’s technology has been at the centre of the developments in British television viewing driven by YouView, via a hugely successful strategic partnership with TalkTalk,” said Mark Mitchinson, Executive VP of Huawei UK and Ireland. “We are therefore thrilled to be launching our own set-top box, which includes cutting-edge innovations to personal video recording technology and will play a key role in bringing YouView+ to the widest possible audience by offering a completely subscription free option for consumers.”

The new Huawei YouView+ DN371T can be purchased now for £219 from selected retailers.
