Huawei shows off ‘world’s thinnest’ 4G mobile Wi-Fi device

Huawei has just unveiled a new LTE mobile Wi-Fi device that it’s touting as ‘the world’s thinnest’.

The not-so-elegantly named Huawei Mobile Wi-Fi Prime E5878 promises download speeds reaching all the way up to 150Mbps.

The pocket-sized iPhone 4-lookalike also touts multi-device connectivity, meaning you can link a total of ten devices up to the Prime.

Huawei also reckons its latest mobile Wi-Fi fare is as chic as they come, at least according to the firm’s Senior Industrial Design, Liang Qinghai.

Huawei Prime features a new minimalist design to make it the latest must-have fashion statement for style conscious young social networkers and tech lovers,” boasts Qinghai.

“It is the perfect companion to keep you connected in style.”

The minimalist kit is made out of superior-grade aluminium with a chassis that measures up at a svelte 7.5mm.

Not just a pretty face, mind – inside you’re looking at a HiSilicon A9 dual-core chipset with Cat4 LTE connectivity and two antennas strapped at either end of the device.

Connectivity comes courtesy of a micro-USB slot, good for pairing up your hotspot to a desktop PC so you can store any super-size files.

The Prime also ships in a rainbow-fondling range of colour options, including sunny gold, peach pink, and turquoise green. There’s polka-dot and diamond-texture effects on offer too, although these will only be available in selected markets.

If you’re keen to join the ‘style conscious young social networker’ demographic, you’ll be pleased to know the Prime is available right now across Europe and the Middle East.

We’ve contacted Huawei in regards to pricing, and we’ll update this article as soon as we know more.
