Huawei P9 looking good with two-camera set-up

Huawei’s next flagship smartphone, the Huawei P9, has leaked – and it’s looking rather impressive.

The Chinese manufacturer had a great 2015, launching arguably the best Android handset ever in the Nexus 6P and becoming the third biggest smartphone maker in the world.

It seems 2016 will be another good year for Huawei, if recent leaks are anything to go by. Images of the forthcoming Huawei P9 flagship phone have hit the web, courtesy of China’s Weibo social network (via SlashGear).

Most notable on these images – aside from a sleek all-metal look that’s part Nexus 6P, part iPhone 5S – is the presence of a dual-camera set-up on the back of the device. Earlier rumours suggest that they will combine to produce 12-megapixel snaps.

Other previously reported specs include Huawei’s own Kirin 955 CPU, which should mark the Huawei P9 out from the Snapdragon 820 crowd (and help to keep the cost down to boot). This will be backed by a generous 4GB of RAM.

Huawei isn’t going for a top-of-the-line QHD display, by the looks of it. Rather, the P9 will sport a 5.2-inch 1080p screen. Elsewhere, a rear-mounted fingerprint scanner and a 2900mAh battery complete the package.

Reports in January suggested that Huawei would launch multiple P9 variants, but that it would do so after the expected MWC 2016 window.
