Huawei Ascend P7 photos leaked ahead of launch

A set of Huawei Ascend P7 photos have leaked ahead of the smartphone’s official launch next week.

Just a week away from its official unveiling in Paris, photographs of what claim to be the Huawei Ascend P7 have emerged online.

From the looks of the fairly high-resolution images, the Huawei Ascend P7 will follow the design standard laid out by the Huawei Ascend P6.

In fact, the differences between the two devices are minimal, aside from the fact that the Ascend P7 will apparently pack a larger 5-inch 1080x1920p full HD resolution screen, up from the 4.7-inch 720p HD display on the P6.

It looks like the P7 will be just as slim as the “world’s slimmest” P6 smartphone and feature the same design quirks as its predecessor despite the larger display and taller body.

Leaked specs suggest it will run on a quad-core Kirin 910T processor with 2GB of RAM, which would be comparable to the Qualcomm Snapdragon 600. This is the chipset that featured in last year’s flagships, so the Ascend P7 may not be able to complete with the Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 big boys like the HTC One M8 and Samsung Galaxy S5.

As for camera specs, the Ascend P7 is expected to feature a 13-megapixel rear camera coupled with an 8-megapixel front-facing alternative. Unlike its predecessor though, the device is tipped to feature microSD card support.

What’s more, there should be a brand new Emotion UI based on Android 4.4.2 KitKat.

TrustedReviews will be on hand at the Huawei Ascend P7 launch on May 7 to bring you all the official news as it happens.
