The Huawei Mate 9 will supposedly feature a Leica dual-lens camera and increased storage options, according to a new leak.
For months now we’ve speculated over what camera the Huawei Mate 9 will come equipped with. But a new leak – unearthed from Chinese social media site Weibo and then posted by Playfuldroid on Twitter – suggests that the Mate 9 will have a Leica dual-lens camera, much like its bigger sibling the Huawei P9. Check it out:
Playfuldroid managed to get hold of what are supposedly legitimate renders of the new Mate 9 device. Look closely and the Leica logo is visible underneath the two lenses. Supposedly, the lenses have an aperture of f/2.0, which is wider that the P9’s f/2.2.
The renders acquired by Weibo give away a whole host of other info about the specs of the new phone. Supposedly, there’ll be three different storage sizes available: 64GB, 128GB, and 256GB and each will come equipped with 4GB of RAM. Each model will come with in a host of different colours.
If the leaks prove correct, Huawei will be taking the fight to the iPhone 7 and 7 Plus, which also saw their storage size increased. Likewise, the 7 Plus also sports a dual-lens camera. There’s currently no word on whether one of the lenses on the Huawei Mate 9’s camera will sport a telephoto zoom option à la the iPhone 7 Plus.
Of course this is all just speculation, and we can’t confirm what the new Huawei Mate 9 will actually look like. Stay tuned.
