HTC Vive financing makes the VR headset actually affordable

HTC has revealed a tempting finance deal for UK customers that will finally make its £759 VR headset accessible for the average Joe Blow.

The coveted HTC Vive can now be yours for a 9.9% financing plan, which puts the headset on your noggin for just £34.84 per month over a 24-month period.

All you need to do is select ‘Financing’ on the billing page at the checkout, and the world’s most expensive VR headset is yours for no upfront cost – apart from a small shipping fee.

Those who opt for the plan will also get one month’s free access to the VR app store Viveport, enabling them to pick five VR titles to get started.

The plan also bundles in Richie’s Plank Experience, which lets users walk a virtual 160-foot-high plank, and Everest VR – the opportunity to scale Mount Everest in your living room.

HTC Vive 9

The HTC Vive headset lets users walk around and interact with virtual worlds using a pair of special controllers. Actions like clenching your fist will let you actually grip onto objects in the virtual worlds.

Separate tracking sensors bundled with the headset tell the Vive exactly where you’re standing, which not only makes VR worlds more immersive, but also stops you colliding with the furniture.
