Here’s why HTC is struggling to fulfil U12 Plus pre-orders
The HTC U12 Plus started shipping earlier this month, but there are still a number of customers, all of whom rushed to pre-order the handset through Amazon, who haven’t received it yet – and now we know why.
Addressing frustrated customers all around the world, HTC said on June 22 that it’s discovered a “small number of U12 Plus orders were affected by a system error that made it seem like the orders were cancelled,” though that is not the case.
“We are in the process of contacting these customers to ensure they know their order will be on its way very soon,” the firm told Android Central. “We are working directly with these customers to ensure they quickly receive and love their U12.”

It’s unclear how many customers are affected by the glitch, but seeing as Amazon is the world’s largest online retailer, it’s safe to say a fair few are. And that’s the last thing HTC needs considering its poor financial health and sub par reputation.
Can it really afford to have people cancelling their orders because it’s running behind schedule? Most certainly not. And can it afford to be distributing compensation to the select few who are up in arms about the delay? Probably not.
