HTC Sensation Coming To Vodafone On 19 May

When we got a chance to play with the HTC Sensation a couple of weeks back we were quite impressed and today Vodafone has announced that everyone else won’t have to wait that much longer to get their grubby mitts on this dual-core beast.

The UK carrier has announced on its website that the handset is now available for pre-order from today and it “will aim to deliver your order by the 19th May.” While this may not be the most concrete of promises, at least it seems as if the phone will be available sometime this month. The 1.2GHz dual-core phone is HTC’s answer to the other so-called superphones like the LG Optimus 2X, the Samsung Galaxy S II and the Motorola Atrix. As well as featuring the speedy processor, the Sensation has a 4.3in Super LCD qHD Gorilla Glass display and comes with HTC’s all-new version of Sense.

While for some Sense is a pointless addition to Android’s Gingerbread, for a lot of HTC fans the updates version will be reason enough to buy this phone. Vodafone UK is offering the handset for free on 24-month contracts of £35-per-month or more. For that outlay you’ll get 900 minutes, unlimited texts and 750MB of data each month. If however you don’t want to pay £35 each month you can get the phone on a £25-per-month plan though the handset will then cost you £199 and you’ll only get 100 minutes, 500 texts and half a gig of data - which in the long run is the worse of the deals.

The Sensation is bound to be popular with a lot of Desire HD owners looking to update their handsets but we’ll reserve judgement for the moment until we complete our review of the Sensation.
