HTC Rezound Launched In US

The HTC Rezound has been unveiled for US customers only and

while it looks alost identical to the HTC Sensation XE, it has a number of small

but very significant differences.

The HTC Rezound is the first handset from the Taiwanese company

with baked-in Beats Audio to hit US shores. The Sensation XE, which was

launched in the UK

in September, also has this new technology and accompanying Beats by Dr. Dre

earbuds.

The Rezound also has the same 1.5GHz processor, 8 megapixel

camera, and Honeycomb version of Android as the Sensation XE. However from

there on, the Rezound begins to show up its European sibling.

First up is the resolution of the 4.3in screen. The

Sensation XE screen has a resolution of 540 x 960 while the Rezound has a huge

1280 x 720 resolution. So it will have the same 720p display as the up-coming Samsung

Galaxy Nexus.

The internal storage has also been boosted from a paltry 4GB

to a decent 16GB and the RAM has also been upgraded from 768MB to1GB.

HTC has specifically said the Rezound will be getting an

upgrade to Ice Cream Sandwich in early 2012, while Sensation XE owners will

just have to wait and hope.

The Rezound is a US-only model at the moment with HTC currently having no plans on releasing it in

the UK,

but with the Sensation XE and Sensation XL (not to forget the original

Sensation) we can’t complain too much.

Will the new HTC handset be a Rezounding success or is it

just another Android phone? Let us know your thoughts in the comments.
