HTC One to feature iPhone 5 esque design?

As reports of HTC’s next flagship phone hit fever pitch, a claimed HTC One picture has hit the web, showing off a device with a distinctly iPhone 5 esque design.

Although far from official, the claimed HTC One leak is the latest in a long line of reports claiming to out the Taiwanese company’s next flagship Android handset ahead of the device’s formal, and confirmed unveiling on February 19.

Hitting the web courtesy of the aptly named Twitter user @EVLeaks, the claimed HTC One picture has showcased a device with an expansive touchscreen display, bookended by white edging akin to that found on the lighter hued iPhone 5. An interesting take on a number of recognisable HTC design features, the leaked image interestingly shows the date and location as February 19 and London respectively, details already announced as the arrival setting of HTC’s next flagship device.

Previously touted as landing under the moniker of the HTC M7, the newly snapped HTC One has gone against the grain of past leaked images, with a seemingly brushed metal shell featuring a dual-speaker set up around front alongside a forward-facing snapper and screen brightness sensors.

Whilst we would advise the latest HTC One leak be taken with a healthy pinch of salt, the image has appeared just days after the same source teased the potential name of the Samsung Galaxy S3 and Google Nexus 4 rival, one again taking to Twitter to declare: “HTC M7 coming to market as simply the HTC One.”

HTC One Rumours
One of the most eagerly awaited additions to the smartphone market, the rumoured HTC One is set to be officially unveiled next week as a device tasked with reviving HTC’s fortunes after a challenging 12 months.

With recent HTC One rumours suggesting the device will play host to a 4.7-inch display with a stunning Full HD 1080p resolution featuring alongside a 1.7GHz quad-core processor, the device is also reported to be the first to come with a new rendition of the company’s HTC Sense UI.

Whilst a 13-megapixel rear-mounted camera is expected to feature, the HTC One is said to be the first handset to play host to a new Ultrapixel snapper that combines three layers of information in order to produce each pixel, a process that should result in sharp, noise-free snaps.

Would you be tempted by the handset shown in the leaked image or do you think HTC has lost its way and Samsung is now the route to take on the Android smartphone scene? Let us know via the TrustedReviews Twitter and Facebook feeds or through the comment boxes below.
