HTC One Max to feature iPhone 5S rivalling fingerprint sensor?

The HTC One Max may follow the iPhone 5S by including a fingerprint sensor when it supposedly launches this autumn.

New pictures of the HTC One Max have emerged, suggesting the supersized HTC One will pack a fingerprint sensor similar to the Touch ID on the iPhone 5S.

The device itself in the images definitely look very similar to the ones we’ve seen in previous leaks, but this time the HTC One Max has a new square panel beneath the rear Ultrapixel camera.

This is said to be a new fingerprint scanner that will be one of the differentiating factors between the HTC One Max and its flagship HTC One and HTC One mini siblings.

However, the positioning of the sensor on the HTC One Max may make it a little inaccessible, unlike how Apple has incorporated the Touch ID sensor into the iPhone 5S’s redesigned home button.

The user who posted the images did suggest that the device may have been a prototype HTC One, so as always take this leak with a pinch of salt.

HTC One Max Features

Heavily rumoured for a launch sometime this autumn, the HTC One Max will have a 5.9-inch Full HD LCD display powered by a 2.3GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 processor with 2GB of RAM.

Potentially a direct rival to the newly launched Samsung Galaxy Note 3, the HTC One Max will have the same design as the HTC One and offer the newest HTC Sense UI complete with BlinkFeed and Zoe software features.

The HTC One Max should feature NFC, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi and 4G LTE connectivity and be powered by a 3,200mAh battery to help run that large screen.

There haven’t been any official details on the HTC One Max from the Taiwanese manufacturer yet, but the device is expected to launch in the very near future.
